The VMC airbox replaces the original carburettor sump cover on the carburettor sump and relies on a cast aluminum housing with integrated venturi and air filter. The reduced volume and the rounded venturi surround allow the air to enter the intake area more easily, which facilitates the air flow to the SI carburetor. The airbox fits on the original carburettor sump and can be combined with carburettors with and without separate lubrication.
