The brake switch closes the contact when the brake is applied, thereby activating the brake light on your scooter. If your existing contactor is defective or no longer switches properly, you can use this brake light contact to ensure that the brake light system functions reliably. The design as a «normally open contact» is particularly important if this switching function is provided on your vehicle, e.g. on models with a turn signal system.
